SPEAKING TOPICS include:
TWEENS and TEENS ~ Speaking sessions can also include an optional art project
- BRAVE: The Fight against Tough Stains is Over
Being BRAVE is discovering God’s plan to be confident in Him and not in the world. Combining a detergent theme with studying specific characters in the Bible, girls will discover that real life issues of idolism, distraction, control, discouragement, and being overwhelmed can be washed clean by trusting in God, keeping our focus on Christ, and prayer. It’s hard being a young girl, but God’s BRAVE detergent (aka Jesus) can wash clean the toughest stains we have!
- PROJECT 2911: The Power of God’s Purpose in You
Using a recycle-redefine-reimagine theme, Project 29:11 explores various verses in Scripture with the address of Chapter 29:11 or Chapter 2:9-11. Girls will discover that EVERYTHING we have comes from God, and it is our responsibility to give back. We will uncover a TRASH to TREASURE concept: Grasping vs. Giving, Wasting vs. Waiting, It’s ALL about ME vs. It’s ALL about YOU, Stay vs. GO, and Imperfect vs. Perfect. Discover The POWER OF GOD’s PURPOSE IN YOU.
- THE IN AND OUT CAFE: Jealousy is not on the Menu
Using the stage of Genesis 25-27, girls will look more closely at the word: JEALOUSY. Using an “In and Out Cafe” theme: Jealousy, Lying, Quarreling, Deceit, and Revenge are “ordered-in” but Peace, Trust, Blessing, Truth, and Forgiveness are “taken-out.” Jealousy blinds us from making good choices. Jealousy is selfish. Jealousy focuses on what other people have. Jealousy is driven out of insecurity. Jealousy listens to bad advice and takes poor action. We need to order in some Jesus and take out some peace, trust, blessing, truth, and forgiveness.
- THE PERFECT PRESENT: Every perfect gift is from above
Using a GIFT theme, girls will unwrap the present of: Who God is, Why God created them, What Sin is, Who Jesus is, and the GIFT of the Holy Spirit. Evangelical in approach, The Perfect Present identifies the simplicity of the gospel message. God is great and infinite. We are His children and designed as a masterpiece. Sin is guaranteed and false. Jesus is with us and offers forgiveness. The Holy Spirit is our instructor and teacher. Once we accept the perfect present of Jesus, we will be filled with His perfect presence forever.
- JAMES: Following God’s Road Signs for your life (Boys and Girls)
The book of James is written to encourage and deepen faith. Let’s face it, growing up is not easy. God gives us INSTRUCTIONS for life, but often we choose to drive our OWN way—finding ourselves on dead-end streets and making U-turns. We need a road map that will guide us in the right direction. Following God’s Road Signs teaches us to put our FAITH INTO ACTION by stopping, looking at God’s map, and asking HIM for directions.
* All teen and tween studies can be adapted to talk with both boys and girls.
~ all the above studies can be adjusted to meet the needs of women. Let’s face it. God’s Word isn’t written for different age groups. The questions are all the same. It’s the answers that are different.
- PLANTED: How to Sit, Stand, and Walk with Jesus
Being Planted means taking the time out of our busy lives just to SIT with God. As we study Psalm 1:1-3, we will be reminded to STAND on the promises in Scripture and learn to be transformed by Christ as we WALK with Him during days of joy and in moments of sorrow. It’s about giving up control and letting God PLANT us where we need to be—so we can grow UP into the strong tree described in Psalm 1:2-3. When our roots are deeply PLANTED into fellowship, love, grace, and the Word of God, we can’t help but become a beautiful strong tree with purpose. Our leaves will not wither under the stresses and storms of life, our fruit will be abundant, and our lives will prosper. It’s a promise on which we can stand.
- DEFEATING GIANTS: A New Perspective on David and Goliath
The “giants” we face today can be people, broken dreams, fear, anger, addiction, divorce, or disappointment. How many times have we just “stunned” these giants, fully thinking defeat, but only coming to realize they have been in a sub-conscience state. PROOF that these giants are dead come only from non-tradional weaponry: Seeking the Lord first, Choosing the right weapon, and Asking the right questions before you go into battle. When we have “done our work” ~ God might select an overdose of love, compassion, patience, or forgiveness as our mighty weapon to sling into the face of our giants. The battle may be long, but take heart, we can trust in God. Keep believing. Keep praying. God is empowering us to fight the GOOD fight and press on until we win the goal which Christ has set before us.
- UNLOCKING THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM
Looking deeper into Matthew 16:13-19, women will answer for themselves who they believe Jesus is. Jesus offers us the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to unlock the mysteries of Scripture. When we believe in Christ, these keys unlock the power of the Holy Spirit to work within us. Need some patience today? Unlock 1 Corinthians 13:4: “Love is patient.” Need to leave some worry behind? Unlock the truth of Philippians 4:6: “Do not worry about anything, but in everything, by prayerand petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Need some rest? Unlock Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Unlocking the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven unlocks our burdens, broken dreams, and barriers and frees us to be the women of Christ we were created to be.
- DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE? God at work within us
Based on Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine . . . ” We will discover that God sees us, knows us, and hears our prayers. There are times in our life when we don’t feel seen or appreciated, but God does. He is fully present with us, and although we tend to put a limit on His power, His power is limitless—it’s immeasurable. God is working in us, giving us the desire and power to do what pleases Him (Philippians 2:13), but sometimes fear gets the best of us. Do you SEE what God sees in you? Take off the glasses of fear and SEE that you have been created and are loved by a mighty and IMMEASURABLE God.
